Where did June go????

We have been really busy this past month. I haven't had much time to keep up with the blog. So I am going to sum up what we did the last month in this blog post. We celebrated Hailey's first birthday. Katie had so much fun at the party playing in the pool with the kids.

Happy first Birthday Hailey!!!

We celebrated Father's day and Katie made her Daddy a "Build a Bear" Monkey dressed as a Carpenter for her Daddy. She called it "Daddy the Monkey". She couldn't wait to give Dan the Monkey. She ran and yelled to Dan on Father's Day...."I have a Monkey Surprise for you". Daddy even took the Monkey to work with him.

We celebrated Shannon's fifth birthday. Katie had a great time playing with all the kids.

Happy Birthday Shannon

Katie went to see her first movie in the movie theater. We went to see Kung Fu Panda with our adoption group. Katie did not sit still in the movie theater and did not make it through the whole movie. I think if it was a princess movie if would of held her attention alittle better.

Katie ready for the movie, enjoying her popcorn. She started out in her seat but didn't last long.

We also went to Sesame Place a couple of more times. Having season passes has been great. We go in the evenings for a few hours. By then it clears out and we can get right on all the rides. They also had a Dance Party for season pass holders last Friday night so we went to that.

The parish that I grew up in has a Fair every year. I have been going to it since I was a little girl. It comes to town every year for 2 weeks. It's a big deal and we go a couple of times each year. We always meet up with everyone at the pizza stand. This year Aunt Eileen was working the pizza stand. I won a fish for Katie. She was thrilled. She named him "Swimmy". The next morning she said she wanted to call him "Dorothy Swimmy". After Elmo's fish Dorothy. She keeps calling the fish a him but assures me that the fish is a girl.

A Day of Firsts......

We got Sesame Place passes again this year. Last year Katie wasn't able to go on all the rides and she also did not like getting too close to the characters. We went to Sesame Place today and Katie went on the Super Grover Roller Coaster..."The Vapor Trail". She loved it. I was alittle nervous about taking her on. But it said 3 years old and 36 inches. After Aunt Karen told her it goes really fast Katie could get out of her stroller fast enough to run to get in line. When we got on the ride Aunt Karen and Bailey were behind us and Aunt Karen said I am alittle worried and Katie threw her arms up in the air. We started laughing Katie wasn't nervous at all. You can buy a DVD video of your ride on the Vapor Trail. I bought it since it was Katie's first roller coaster ride. I will upload it to the blog once I figure out how to do it. Katie also went on her first water slide ride. Katie and Bailey went down the slide together in a double tube. She loved it.

Timmy went with us to Sesame Place and we got extra special treatment. This is his 6th year working at Sesame Place. He is personal friends with all the characters. Katie was so happy that Timmy told Abby Cadabby all about her and how much she likes her. Abby gave Katie lots of attention during the Abby Cadabby show. Thanks Timmy!!!!

Then to end a great day Bailey found a ladybug. How funny is that???

Happy Memorial Day

I am alittle behind on blogging about Memorial Day weekend since we were very busy with the recital the week after we got back from Fenwick Island. We spent another awesome Memorial Day weekend with the Rocco's at there beach house in Fenwick Island, Delaware. This year we made a new tradition with Two-Pop's Flag raising cermony. Dan read the spoken part and then we all sang "God Bless American". We even had some of the neighbors watching us from there porches. It was very nice. The weekend continued with good friends, good food, drinks, and alot of laughs. We hit the pool on Saturday and then the beach on Sunday. We relaxed, went to bed early, and slept in.....my kind of weekend.

Thanks to Pat and Rudy for another wonderful relaxing weekend at the beach house.

A Star Is Born

Katie had her first dance recital last Thursday and Friday night. She was GREAT!!! She got on stage and gave it her best performance. Thursday night was her tap routine to "Broadway Babies" and then Friday night was her ballet routine to "When You Wish Upon A Star". Both nights she was also part of the "Tumbling Tots". This is the best part of the show watching all the preschoolers tumble across the stage. Katie ran out on stage and tumbled with no problem. Thursday night she forgot to blow her kisses to the audience but remembered to do it on Friday night. She smiled and blew kisses right at the audience. So cute. After the show she was so excited to get her flowers and trophy. This is what she was waiting all year for. She kept talking about the recital over the last few months and how she was going to dance on the stage and then everyone would clap and she would get flowers from her Daddy and Brady. Well not only did she get flowers from Daddy and Brady but from Mimi, and Grandmom and Pop-Pop, and Grandmom Rita too. She also got a ballerina mousy from Mom Mom Maureen, a ballerina bear from Grandmom Pat and an Ariel doll from Uncle Jeff aka Prince Eric. What a fan club our little star has already.

Bailey was in the recital too and did a Fabulous job. Taylor and Alyssa also made their recital debut this year. They both did a wonderful job. I didn't do too shabby myself in my adult jazz and tap performances.
